A Taste of the Basque

Hola! Having just come back from a whirlwind summer trip to Spain and witness the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, I would like to bring back my experience (including my new culinary tips learnt) and share with you all the wonderful flavours from the Basque.

The usual drill applies here: food will be made fresh on the premises with lots of love and the arrangement will be in the spirit of communal dining (after all, everything in life is best when shared!). I will also make a few pitchers of sangria on the day (again, something I learnt whilst in Barcelona) to help break the ice between and get you quickly acquainted with fresh faces in the initial mingling session on the balcony.

That said, please bring a bottle of wine / social lubricant as reinforcement to ensure the conversation continues to flow in a lively and spirited manner throughout the evening :)

As for the menu, here it is (NB: tentative and could change on the day subject to availability of ingredients).

TENTATIVE MENU:

Welcome drink: Summer sangria (NB: the prelude on the balcony)

Assorted charcuterie board with roasted vegetables

Gazpacho 

Pan Con Tomate (tomato bread)

Pulpo a la Gallega (Grilled Octopus with Potatoes) / Spanish paprika garlic prawns (as not always easy to source fresh octopus in hong kong)

Seafood paella

Spanish roast chicken

Spanish mussels 

Smoky Spanish potatoes

Crisp mixed green salad

Garlic mushrooms

Assorted cheese and fruit 

Unlimited coffee and tea

Price: 900 HKD + BYO

Dress Code: Running of the bulls! (i.e. a splash of red and white with sass) 

Location: Wan Chai/Happy Valley hood. I will disclose the venue to you over phone/text once seat is confirmed.
